Board-Certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist | Founder, River & Coast Women's Care

Meena A. Demetrios, MD, is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist and the founder of River & Coast Women's Care, serving patients in Jacksonville and Saint Johns, Florida. He takes the time to listen and understand each patient's preferences and concerns, providing compassionate, personalized care for women at every stage of life.

Dr. Demetrios provides comprehensive prenatal care and supports patients throughout pregnancy, labor, and delivery. He has a particular focus in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, offering advanced laparoscopic and robotic procedures that treat conditions such as fibroids, endometriosis, ovarian cysts, and abnormal uterine bleeding with smaller incisions and faster recovery. He also cares for patients across the full range of women's health needs, including routine gynecologic care, menopause management, emotional wellness, and breast health.

Dr. Demetrios also serves as Chief of Maternal-Child Medicine at Ascension St. Vincent in St. Johns.

Gabrielle Garbade, MD, FACOG

Board-Certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist

Gabrielle Garbade, MD, FACOG is an obstetrician and gynecologist at River and Coast. She earned her medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine and completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Lehigh Valley Health Network. Dr. Garbade is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

Dr. Garbade has special interests in menopausal care, robotic gynecologic surgery, and high-risk obstetrics. She is passionate about caring for women through all stages of life and values the opportunity to care for multiple generations within the same family. Dr. Garbade practices evidence-based medicine and is enthusiastic about incorporating new treatments that help women live healthier, happier lives.


Outside of work, Dr. Garbade enjoys traveling and exploring new places with her family.

Sarah Sowinski-Lopez, MMS, PA-C

Physician Assistant

Sarah is a dedicated Women’s Health professional with a passion for providing compassionate, specialized care to a diverse patient population. Originally from the suburbs of Chicago, she relocated to Florida to pursue her education and career in healthcare. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Central Florida in 2015 and went on to complete her master’s degree at Nova Southeastern University in 2020.

Outside of her professional work, Sarah enjoys reading, staying active through fitness, and spending quality time with her husband and their chihuahuas.

Since graduating, Sarah has focused her career on Women’s Health, where she is committed to supporting patients through every stage of life with personalized and evidence-based care.

Rina Vasilarakis, MMS, PA-C

Physician Assistant

Rina Vasilarakis, MMS, PA-C, is a Physician Assistant specializing in obstetrics and gynecology who is dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered care. She focuses on prenatal and postpartum care, contraception and family planning, and supporting gynecologic wellness for patients across every stage of life. Rina believes in combining evidence-based medicine with clear communication to help patients feel informed, confident, and empowered in their healthcare decisions.

Rina earned her Bachelor’s degree in Human Biology from Indiana University and went on to complete her Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Nova Southeastern University. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Associates (AAPA).

As a new graduate entering practice in 2025, Rina is passionate about building meaningful relationships with her patients and creating a welcoming environment where individuals feel heard, respected, and supported. She prioritizes listening and understanding each patient’s unique needs in order to provide personalized, thoughtful care.

Originally from Valparaiso, Indiana, Rina also has family roots in Karpathos, Greece. Outside of the clinic, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, going to the beach, and relaxing with her mini goldendoodle, Leo.

Kelsey Griffin, MMS, PA-C, is a Physician Assistant at River & Coast Women’s Care, dedicated to providing compassionate, personalized care. She earned her Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Nova Southeastern University.

Kelsey believes in creating a warm, welcoming environment where patients feel heard and comfortable. She is committed to combining evidence-based medicine with genuine, individualized attention to help each patient feel confident in their care.

Originally from a small town in south Georgia, Kelsey now calls Florida home. Outside of the clinic, she enjoys spending time with her two fur babies, experimenting with new coffee recipes, and watching her favorite reality. 

Nurse Practitioner

Lauren Johnson, APRN
Lauren Johnson, APRN

Lauren Johnson is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with extensive experience in obstetrics and gynecology.  She received her undergraduate and Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Florida in 2009 and has since provided comprehensive women's care spanning from adolescence through menopause.  

Her clinical focus includes gynecological disease management, family planning, obstetrical care, postpartum care and hormone therapy. She is committed to fostering strong patient-provider relationships and ensuring patients feel empowered and informed about their reproductive health decisions. 

Lauren has also volunteered internationally in Gambia, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo providing prenatal, labor and postpartum care while helping train local healthcare teams in the management of obstetrical emergencies.

In her free time, Lauren enjoys spending time with her active-duty husband and 3 children, reading, playing tennis and enjoying the outdoors. 

Kerena Atkins, MSN, APRN, FNP-C

Kerena Atkins is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with a passion for women’s health and preventive care. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Jacksonville University and brings nearly a decade of nursing experience caring for women and families throughout Northeast Florida.

Before becoming a nurse practitioner, Kerena worked extensively in labor and delivery, postpartum, newborn, and women’s surgical care. Her background has given her a deep appreciation for the unique healthcare needs women experience throughout every stage of life.

Kerena believes in building meaningful relationships with her patients and creating a supportive environment where women feel heard, respected, and empowered to take an active role in their health. Her clinical interests include preventive care, contraception, menstrual concerns, pregnancy-related care, menopause management, and helping women achieve their long-term wellness goals.

Outside of work, Kerena enjoys spending time with her partner and three children. They love being able to enjoy great shows and movies together or even play video games.

Melody Dallmann is a compassionate and dedicated Family Nurse Practitioner with more than a decade of healthcare experience spanning primary care, dermatology, women’s health, reproductive medicine, perioperative services, labor and delivery, and postpartum care. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Western Kentucky University. She attended Northern Arizona University for her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. As a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner, Melody is committed to providing evidence-based, patient-centered care while empowering patients to take an active role in their health and wellness.

In addition to her nursing credentials, Melody holds a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Arizona State University. Her passion for teaching has remained a central part of her professional journey, whether educating patients about disease prevention and chronic disease management or helping others better understand complex health information. Melody’s unique blend of clinical expertise, educational training, and genuine compassion allows her to build meaningful relationships with patients and support positive health outcomes across all stages of life.

Outside of work, Melody loves spending time with her husband, two children, extended family and dog Peanut. Her spare time is  spent relaxing by the pool, family movie nights, and traveling.

Rachel Thornton, MSN, ARNP FNP-C is a family nurse practitioner with experience providing patient centered care to women of all ages. She is passionate about working with women in family planning, menopause care, gynecological care, and prenatal care. Rachel works diligently to provide evidence based care best suited to the patient’s lifestyle. 

Rachel earned her bachelors of science in nursing and her masters of science in nursing from The George Washington University in Washington, DC. Originally from Jacksonville, she is happy to be back serving our community. In her free time, Rachel enjoys spending time with her husband, children, and three cats.

Samantha Allman, CNM, is a nationally certified Nurse Midwife dedicated to providing comprehensive, patient-centered care across the lifespan—from adolescence through menopause. She specializes in pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care, with a focus on creating a safe, supportive, and collaborative environment for every patient.

Samantha is committed to empowering individuals through education, shared decision-making, and personalized care tailored to each patient’s unique needs and goals. Her approach integrates evidence-based practice with compassionate support to promote optimal health outcomes for both parent and baby.

She earned both her Master of Science in Nursing and Doctor of Nursing Practice in Midwifery from Columbia University School of Nursing, where she received advanced clinical training in full-scope midwifery care.

Emilee DeMar, APRN-CNM

Emilee is a Certified Nurse Midwife who comes to River and Coast Women’s Care with 7 years of prior experience as a Registered Nurse. She earned her Masters degree from the University of Cincinnati and is certified by the AMCB.

Her journey to midwifery was inspired by her own pregnancy and postpartum experience. She is passionate about addressing gaps in maternity care and supporting women through every stage of life with evidence-based care, from adolescence to menopause. Her training spans both hospital and birth center settings. She has experience in physiologic birth, water birth, and in-hospital labor and delivery management. She believes midwifery allows her to empower patients with knowledge, support, and personalized care.

Outside of work, she enjoys traveling with her husband, their 4-year-old son, and two dogs, and is excited to make Florida home

Bridget plays a key role in guiding patients through their care with clarity and efficiency, helping navigate appointments, treatment plans, and follow-up with ease. Her attention to detail and proactive approach allow her to anticipate needs and provide a smooth, personalized experience.

She is known for her warm, approachable nature and her ability to build meaningful connections, creating an environment where patients feel genuinely cared for and supported.

Outside of work, Bridget is a proud mother of two and enjoys balancing family life with her passion for women’s health.

Haley Hall, RN

Registered Nurse

Haley is a compassionate and highly skilled Registered Nurse who brings a thoughtful, patient-centered approach to care at River & Coast Women’s Care. She began her nursing career after graduating from Keiser Nursing School in 2021 and went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in February 2026, reflecting her continued commitment to clinical excellence.

She has a strong passion for women’s health, with a particular interest in gynecologic oncology. Haley is dedicated to supporting patients through complex and sensitive moments with clarity, empathy, and attention to detail, ensuring they feel informed and confident in every step of their care.

Known for her calm presence and genuine compassion, Haley creates a reassuring and personalized experience for each patient she serves.

Outside of the office, she enjoys time with her family, being outdoors, and relaxing at the beach. She is also a proud dog mom to her two pups, Penny and Bean.
